Jack Frost 2020 : What’s waiting for you!
The new year is almost upon us and that means Jack Frost 2020 is coming fast! Since we want you and your family to have the best weekend ever, here’s a few pointers to make your life easier during the Winterfest before you join us on February 14-17, 2020.
Jack Frost Winterfest has been the Maritimes’ largest winter festival for the past 14 years. To celebrate our 15th anniversary, we went even bigger. That’s why we’re bringing a freestyle snowmobile demo to Charlottetown! Come watch pro sledders showcase their best tricks as the crowd cheers them on. Obviously, you can also expect other family-friendly activities at the Eastlink Snow Kingdom like ice & snow slides, snowskating, axe throwing, fatbiking and fir throwing, among many others.
This year, we’ve also added many cool activities geared towards millenials. If you’re looking for a break from the cold, our Indoor Playland has video game stations, a skateboard mini-ramp, slacklines and a laser game area for your older kids. However, children and their parents are still at the center of our programming, with many music shows at our Live Family Stage (Baby Shark!), meet & greets with mascots and athletes, face painters and inflatable games.
While entrance to both of these zones requires a Jack Frost ticket, you can visit Aurora on Victoria Row for lots of free shows and activities. Enjoy the party vibes thanks to the DJs’ music selection, live ice sculptures, buskers rocking out, a marshmallow station as well as fireworks, all that for free in downtown Charlottetown. If you cannot spend an entire day around Jack Frost but want to take in the vibe for a little while, Aurora’s the place for you!
FOOD & DRINKS
When it’s time to fill up on food and drinks, head out to the Founders’ Food Hall & Market, which is right next to the Eastlink Snow Kingdom. You’ll be able to try out a bunch of local eateries’ food and drinks, with choices for the whole family. Many local artisans will also have their work on display so you can take a little piece of Charlottetown back home with you!
Atlantic Canada gets really cold in the middle of February! That’s why it’s better to plan ahead and bring many layers, which you can put on or take off depending on the changing weather. This “onion-skin” method will allow you to adapt on the fly to your family’s needs as well as guarantee maximum comfort during the Winterfest. If you’re looking to warm up, our free Aurora zone will have bonfires going to let you enjoy our fireworks without worrying about the cold.
Tickets are required to access the Snow Kingdom, the Indoor Playland and the Family Live Stage, while entrance to Aurora and to the Founders’ Food Hall & Market are free. Weekend passes are available individually as well as in “Family of 4” packs. You can buy them online right here. If you’re planning to spend the whole weekend in Charlottetown, we also have complete hotel packages which include your hotel stay and VIP access to Jack Frost Winterfest for the entire family.
Now that you have all the info, you’re ready to join us at Jack Frost Winterfest on February 14-17, 2020 in Charlottetown, PEI.
