Jack Frost Celebrates Community with Free Programming on Islander Day Weekend

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jack Frost Celebrates Community with Free Programming on Islander Day Weekend

(Charlottetown, PEI – January 28, 2026) Jack Frost Winterfest, a key driver of winter tourism on Prince Edward Island each February, is reinforcing its community-first approach by ensuring there are opportunities for everyone to take part in the celebration. Today, the festival announced Mardi Gras After Dark, a free, all-ages community event taking place Saturday evening February 14 at Founders’ Food Hall & Market. The event will feature fireworks, an outdoor live performance by Charlottetown-based funk disco band Le Funk, local buskers, ice sculpting, mask making, and more. While Jack Frost Winterfest includes ticketed experiences, free programming like Mardi Gras After Dark reflects the festival’s commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and bringing the community together to celebrate winter.

From February 13 to 16, Jack Frost Winterfest takes over Prince Edward Island with activities across three venues. Throughout the weekend, additional free programming at the Warm & Glow Zone at Founders’ Food Hall & Market include a DJ Skate on Friday, ice sculpting, buskers, and fireside socials, creating a welcoming space to gather and celebrate winter. Family-friendly highlights on Islander Day Monday, kick off with a Princess Party and Mascot Skate.

Jack Frost Winterfest is partnering with Murphy Hospitality Group to bring special dining deals to Charlottetown during the festival weekend. Families can take advantage of the Kids Eat Free promotion — receive a complimentary kids’ meal with the purchase of an entrée for children ages 12 and under, available for dine-in or take-out when presenting a Jack Frost ski tag.
